A day in life and home of a child in an informal setttlement
I wake up to the sound of the township.I am cold and weak.I get out of bed slowly and I peak into the cupboard. My heart sinks there is nothing to eat.My stomach growls and I feel weaker just knowing I have to walk to school. I get my cloths on and I walk to school. While I am walking to school I see the rubbish every where and a idea pops in my mind. What if we put the rubbish in bottle and we make house out of them that way the rubbish isn’t lying every where and people can get house.Maybe one day someone can hire them for picking up rubbish and putting it in bottles.I arrive at school luckily people throw away stationery like blunt scissors, short pencils, broken rollers and little erasers.A lot of times I can’t hear the teacher speak because we are such a big class and I can’t concentrate because I am so hungry because I have nothing to eat.We have ten textbooks and there sixty of us so we have to sit together and share the textbook. When school is over I walk back home more hungry and weak. I have hurry home because if I don’t it will get darker and we don’t have a light and I need to do my homework. Also not a lot of people will be home so it will be more quiet. It is very noise because the shakes are very close together. When I get to our shake I immediately start my homework thirty minutes later my older brother is home. I have finally finish my work brother was always grumpy when he got home.He normal dragged himself home.
